Contemplation

"Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart. And try to love the questions themselves."
Rainer M. Rilke

Within each of us is a quiet center, free from worry over the future, or regret concerning the past. In this centered place, we are able to fully experience the process of living and contemplate the miracles of life.

One of my favorite activities is to look out at night with my telescope. Looking out into the vast expanses of the galaxy centers me in that place of wonder, that place that marvels at the process of it all. Sometimes the best vacation we can take from our worldly troubles is a few silent moments of contemplation. Today, allow yourself some time to engage in an activity that brings you to full, present awareness. Contemplate the larger meaning of your life by taking time to fully appreciate the process.

Today's Exercise:

Engage in an activity that brings you to full awareness, such as meditation, or other activity that engages your sense of being connected to the process of life. Focus on your breath and feel the oxygen as it brings nourishment to the cells of your body, walk in nature and really observe what is going on around you... all of these activities center us in the present and allow us to contemplate the "bigger picture". Write about your experience in your journal.
