Imagination

One of the greatest gifts of childhood was our imagination. As children we were able to use our imaginations to take us anywhere. Wonder and amazement could lurk around any corner in the seemingly simplest of things. As we grew into adults our imaginations were curtailed as we took on growing responsibilities and began to learn of our seeming "limitations".

Today's Power word encourages us to return to our story book lands and dare to dream. Know that dreams really can come true, so long as you keep them alive. If you had a painful childhood this can be more difficult to do, but it can be a great gift as it allows you to partake in the wonder of childhood that you may not have experienced fully. Letting our inner child "play" helps us to bring forth our creative energies into our everyday world.

Today's Exercise:

Write a short story through the eyes of your inner child. Let your imagination carry you away and unleash your creativity. If you don't feel like writing today, play a game of "pretend", draw, make something and let your inner child play for awhile. Remember that it is important that we never neglect our imaginations or let our dreams die. Use today's exercise to release some of your creative potential and find a new way to express yourself.
